The Wild Swans at Coole
The Wild Swans at Coole portrays a old mans life after visiting the same pond for nineteen years. The opening scene shows him revisiting the pond in October “The woodland paths are dry, Under the October twilight the water” (2). However, the man is sad because everything has changed: “ And now my heart is sore. All’s changed since I, hearing at twilight. (14-15). However, the swans are the only things that haven’t changed: “Unwearied still, lover by lover”(19). Finally at the end he wonders when the swans will finally leave “To find they have flown away?”(24).
