When you are old

When you are old portrays an older man talking to one of his past lovers. The revisit much Lateran life when they are, “old grey and full of sleep”(1). Then man asks the women “How many loved your moments of glad grace, And loved your breath with love false or true”(5-6). The man could be showing that he loved her truly, while others feelings were fake. Finally the man tells how, “a little sadly how love fled”(10).  It seems one of them didn’t love the other, and the man reflects on that.

TSA

TSA portrays a Arab man's struggles as he is discriminated against in a airport. The opening words show how this man is entering airport security and tries to act “American”. “My laptop's in a bin. I dig out the keys from my jeans and do my best Midwestern grin” (3-4). However, the man gets searched as he does almost every trip, even though it’s random “the customary strip is never enough for a young brown male whose name comes up at random(5-6). He points out that others like him get screen unfairly as well, just because of their names “my dark unshaven brothers whose names overlap with the crazies and God fiends(15).

The Wild Swans at Coole

The Wild Swans at Coole portrays a old mans life after visiting the same pond for nineteen years. The opening scene shows him revisiting the pond in October “The woodland paths are dry, Under the October twilight the water” (2). However, the man is sad because everything has changed: “ And now my heart is sore. All’s changed since I, hearing at twilight. (14-15). However, the swans are the only things that haven’t changed: “Unwearied still, lover by lover”(19). Finally at the end he wonders when the swans will finally leave “To find they have flown away?”(24).

Still Frame Anaylsis

Plato death frame represents Jim and Judy’s parental connection to Plato. Jim and Judy tending to Plato conveys their longing to be loved by their own parents. Earlier in the film, Jim and Judy pose similarly to this one, putting Plato to bed. However, in this scene we have Jim, bending over putting his jacket on Plato’s dead body. Jim is hovers over Plato in a fatherly way, and the scene is also darkened, perhaps to make Jim and Judy look older. Jim is in his white undershirt, zipping up his jacket on Plato’s body. Likewise, Judy is also putting on a article of clothing on Plato. She is putting on the shoes he lost while running from the police. This scene is very similar to the one previous where Jim and Judy put Plato to bed. However, instead of a blanket, they are putting on his shoes and Jim’s jacket. This is a parental gesture, showing how  Jim and Judy have taken the place as Plato’s parents. They are acting like the parents they wish they had, showing their wanting of at...

Carter’s Soundtrack

As most of you know, I am somewhat of an up and coming producer. However, if you are ready to get pumped up for a big game, listen to Bad Boy For Life- by Diddy. Always gets me hyped.
